Rev. Bennie L. Yarbough was born June 24 in Dermott, AR, where he attended high school and college. He grew up as member of Antioch Baptist Church, under Pastor H. P. Donaldson.
Rev. Yarbough moved to Joliet, IL in 1969. He has been married to his helpmate Kawana of Monticello, AR. for 48 years and they have 2 wonderful children Kevin and Kendria and 1 lovely granddaughter, Jayla.
Rev. Yarbough joined St. Paul M.B Church in 1981, under the leadership of late Rev. Willie Wright. He was serving as Assistant Pastor and Executive Board Member under the leardership of Pastor Edward Martin Jr. Under Pastor Martin's leadership, Rev. Yarbough has been involved in many areas. Through this journey as a faithful servant, in 1995, God called Rev. Yarbough to preach and teach the Gospel, and he was ordained in 1998.
As a devoted employee at the Illinois Department of Corrections at Statesville, Rev. Yarbough retired in 2001 with 32 years of service, thus allowing him to dedicate more time to ministry.
In Decemeber 2018 after Pastor Martin's retirement, Rev. Yarbough was elected as Pastor of the St. Paul M.B. Church.
Rev. Yarbough has a passion for people. He enjoys sharing biblical stories and ministering to people in need. He states that "Many opportunities have been given to him to minister to God's people in the city of Joliet and surrounding areas. These experiences have been most rewarding." One of Pastor Yarbough's favorite scriptures are: "I have set the Lord always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved." Psalms 16:8
