| Rev. Edward Martin Jr. |
| Pastor |
Whether it's naturally or spiritually, Reverend Edward Martin Jr. is more than qualified to do as Jesus told Peter in the 21st chapter of the Gospel of John, "Feed my sheep".
For over 30 years, Rev. Edward Martin Jr. has been feeding people naturally as an Executive Chef. More importantly, he has been feeding God's people with the Word of God for even longer.
Pastor Martin began ministry at the Mt. Ebal Missionary Baptist Church of Lockport, IL serving as a deacon under the leadership of Pastor Theodore Pinnick. It was there he was called into the gospel ministry and he began preaching in 1975.
In 1982, after years of preaching and traveling extensively evangelizing, he accepted the call to pastor the St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church of Joliet, IL. Since that time, countless numbers of souls have been saved as well as lives changed by the Word of God.
Under his leadership the membership of St. Paul has grown tremendously and many ministries have been added. Our latest project includes the completion of the new 3 million dollar edifice on 11 acres of land that includes a 1,000 seat sanctuary, classrooms, and a gymnasium all located just south of I-80 on Briggs Street in Joliet.
Pastor Martin has been happily married to Lady Asie L. Martin for 34 years. Together, they are the proud parents of five sons: Anthony, Rodney, Nathan (Tashia), Wendell (Sharralyn), and Michael; and the grandparents of two boys, Elijah and Ethan.
Anointed and appointed, Reverend Edward Martin Jr. has definitely been called for such a time as this!
